Our story

About Equal Bites

Good food deserves to be eaten. Equal Bites is building a local marketplace that connects cafés, bakeries, and small grocers with nearby people who want to save on end-of-day surplus.

A surprise worth collecting

Shops offer mystery bags of food left over that day, with planned discounts of 50–70% off regular value. Buyers reserve a bag and collect it during the shop’s stated pickup window, usually shortly before closing. Contents vary with daily surplus.

Small start. Local impact.

Our launch plan starts in one neighborhood. Our first 90-day goals are to bring 10 partner shops on board and complete 500 orders—goals we’re working toward, not milestones we’ve already reached.

Clear details matter

We’re working with shops on pickup windows, clear labeling, and food-safety basics. Before reserving, check the listing and ask the shop about allergens or dietary requirements. Mystery bags don’t guarantee particular items.

For neighborhood shops

Our planned pilot is free for partner shops. After the pilot, we plan to introduce a 15–20% commission on sales. The aim is simple: help shops recover value from surplus while keeping good food out of the bin.
